I am excited to share with you my new line of stillwater fly patterns! I have been fishing and perfecting these patterns the past six years. You, my blog readers, are the first to learn about them, and you will be the first who can purchase them when my retail website is launched. If you are interested to learn the background on how I developed, tested, and finalized my fly patterns, click here to read What’s coming to Stillwater Adventures?
I will introduce each fly with detailed information on how to fish the fly and when it is most effective. The first fly I will introduce my Grizzly Bug.
1. Introducing Vickie’s Grizzly Bug
After fishing the Grizzly Bug for years, I am thrilled with the proven productivity of this pattern. Its lifelike motion and integrated UV materials successfully grab the attention of trout from early spring to late fall. I use #10 size hook in the spring and reduce the hook size to a #12 during the summer and fall. This pattern will be available in four colors: Burnt Orange, Black, Dark Olive, and Dark Burgundy. Find it on my new retail web site.
